The House  -  L'Ancien Chai

The house (or gite) L'Ancien Chai is situated on the edge of a small group of privately owned properties. L'Ancien Chai is the only property that is available as rental.

The place was once a farm with L'Ancien Chai having magnificent views to the south, west and east.

There is a securely-fenced, large shared pool (14 metres x 4 metres) in the extensive grounds. The swimming pool is open from the end of May to the early October. There is also a full sized tennis court and we provide tennis rackets.

We have 4 adult bikes and a child bike for your use.

Parking is available adjacent to the house.

 This is a non-smoking residence. Sorry, no pets.

L'Ancien Chai is 15 minutes stroll from the village of Lusignac where there is a lively restaurant bar serving meals and even Guinness with a pool table for the chaps. Shops can be found in Verteillac 6km away. The market town of Riberac with "Leclerc" supermarket is 11 km away. Bergerac, with its airport is an hour's drive to the south, with Periguex 34 km to the east. Bordeaux and the wine regions are to the west.

L'Ancien Chai - the accommodation

L'Ancien Chai accommodates up to 8 guests in comfort. 8 is the maximum we can have staying although we do have a cot for an infant making 9 guests.

The ground floor is open plan with a large kitchen opening onto a dining area and beyond to the sitting room.

French windows lead from the lounge, the dining room and the kitchen to the patio.

Also on this floor are two bedrooms (one large double, one good-sized twin), plus a bathroom/shower/WC and a utility room. The twin bedroom has a video player and we have a library of old children's videos to maybe help llittle ones settle.

The ground floor is wheelchair accessible.

On the first floor, there are two further bedrooms. One good-sized double; one good-sized twin. The twin bedroom has a DVD player. All have excellent views over the countryside. There is a large landing and second bathroom/walk-in-shower/WC.

All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes except the ground floor double, which has a large free-standing wardrobe and the upstairs twin bedroom.

L'Ancien Chai - facilities

Our approach has been to make the house as comfortable and homely as possible with everything you need to help you relax and have a great holiday.

There is a fully equipped kitchen including electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, washing machine, clothes airer, iron and ironing board.

Bed linen is provided, as well as towels (house use only, please provide your own poolside towels).

There is garden and patio furniture and a barbeque. There are also 4 adult bicycles plus a child's bike for you to borrow.

 We have satellite and Smart TV with UK terrestrial TV channels, e.g. BBC etc. The TV has Netflix. There is a midi system for iplayer, MP3, CDs and tapes. Board games, jigsaws and books are provided.  We have a small library of books to enjoy. 

The house has free wifi so teenagers and business people can keep up with their social media and email requirements. Great for Zoom/Teams contact too. Really strong signal.

A wood stove heater is fitted, making the house very cosy.

For those with children, a cot and highchair are also provided.
